Extension of the Residence Permit!

This is a procedure that allows foreign citizens, who already possess a residence permit, to extend its validity for a longer period.

Attention! Always remember the timely renewal of your residence permit.

Deadlines

This must be done no later than 15 days before the expiration of the stay period. The validity period of the permit is reflected in the ID card under the “Validity” field.

Processing time

It will take 15 days to obtain approval from the “Migration” sector and an additional 3 to 30 days for the production of a new ID card.

Failure to meet deadlines

If you fail to do so on time, immigration services may impose fines ranging from 20 to 2500 BGN.

Submitting documents after the expiration of the ID card may lead to the nullification of accumulated stay days in the country, necessary for obtaining permanent residency, and, in certain cases, require obtaining a new “D” category visa.
