Pensioners supported by a state pension, who are citizens of the respective country, and have sufficient means to reside in Bulgaria.

To demonstrate financial means during the stay in Bulgaria, it is required to provide a document issued by any bank located within the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, confirming the existence of an open account in that bank.

When applying for a Type D visa:

• The account must have a balance of at least 6 minimum pensions in Bulgaria, which is approximately 3140 BGN or 1611 euros.

When applying for a prolonged residence permit:

• For a 6-month residence permit: The account must have a balance of at least 6 minimum pensions in Bulgaria, which is approximately 3140 BGN or 1611 euros.

• For a 12-month residence permit: The account must have a balance of at least 12 minimum pensions in Bulgaria, which is approximately 6280 BGN or 3222 euros.

The bank statement should be issued no earlier than one month prior to the date of document submission.
